Best Sommelier of France 2004 - 3 rd Best Sommelier of Europe 2004
Dominique Laporte has been working in nearly all the great French gastronomy restaurants with some of the most renowned chefs, for instance, Bocuse, Senderens, Taillevent, as well as in famous palace places such as Crillon, GeorgeV and Meurice, to mention only a few.
Currently, Dominique manages his Wine and Beverage Council Company. He is specializing in tasting dinners, wine dinners, oenological events, sommelier classes, and classes for wine retailers. He also composes wine lists for restaurants that don’t have their own sommelier, but that wish to offer their customers good and interesting wines at a nice price. Dominique has also successfully competed in most of the important competitions.
He became the Best Young sommelier of France in 1997, Master of Port International in 1998, Best Sommelier of France in 2004, Meilleur Ouvrier de France in the same year and finally 3rd Best sommelier of Europe (Trophée Ruinart) in 2004. He currently prepares for the Best Sommelier of Europe and Best Sommelier of the World Competition. He wants to improve his knowledge in order to better share his passion with the consumers.
